Isn't this great? I think so, too -- I doubt there's anyone who can recreate my creepy sense of unease, suspense and erotic growth as well rubbrsome can. I know where the story's going and I'm still excited to read it! It is absolutely a wonderful splice of his world mixed with mine. A quick word on [POLLINATION: The Series](https://www.gayspiralstories.com/newStory/show/330) -- feel free to read it yourself -- it was a story that I completely made up as I went along. I almost never do that. Yes, I had a vague idea about overall plot -- I knew what I wanted the latter half of the book to be (not unlike Stephen King's THE STAND), but I had a LONG way to go before I got to that stuff. Interestingly, I'd just gotten to the brink of what I'd intended to do when I stopped writing it. It was turning into a major novel -- and I hadn't even STARTED the stuff I'd "plotted" -- when I lost the energy for it. But the exercise of following the vines as the Pollination took place really fascinated me, this guy led to this guy led to this guy, etc. and each branch kept blooming and growing in its own unique direction -- and I just let it. I have often considered jumping back in the garden and finishing the novel -- I'm considering it right now, as a matter of fact -- but I believe rubbrsome's take will satisfy us all for a while. This is good stuff, friends -- enjoy the ride! Thank you thank you thank you thank you for writing it!!!!!!

I'm loving this series! You do an excellent job of writing the old and new characters, the mental and reality changes, the power dynamics, and of course the sex scenes, it's a great twist compared to a lot of the stories here that they're actually deeply in love through the whole thing, and it's just similar enough to a certain would-be presidential gay couple in real life to be familiar and fun but still different enough to be original and fresh and not just a parody. So good that I honestly want to read it again but from Parker's perspective too. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter, keep up the good work!

Bibimbap, sorry it's taking so long. Been crazy busy. I have a new chapter in the works as we speak that will introduce two new characters. I have a lot planned for this story. :)

It was the most impressive novel I read recently. Thank you so much. I'd like to see Steve and Kevin's story after this someday. I'm curious about Steve's life after Steve's father disappears... And I wonder what "death" looks like in this town. Maybe they will be bound to this town even after their deaths...?

I remember the bikers from the first story. Spreading their seed along the highways. Converting 'weekend bikers' to expand their gang. I hope we get to see them again!

What a great story line. Vivid details. You are on a great beginning. Thank you.

nycboot You are exactly right. If you go back to Pollination (The Series), there are only two instances in that entire story where the symbiosis is described. And it's interesting that you mention the film Jaws. I think our imaginations are so good in filling in the missing details. Plus it keeps the audience hungry for more. So yes, my intention with the first chapter was to start off this series with a rocket blast. I want to show something fresh and yet familiar at the same time. I want the story to progress logically with the idea: how would the country respond after the first pollination. So expect the story to slow down a bit. I got to set up my dominoes now.

Gads, my two favorite stories (Brain Feed and Pollination) as if combined. Rubbrsome, your writing has become better than any Hollywood movie. The detail, the suggestions, the atmosphere, the amazing pacing and how it speeds up or slows down - it's all more than fantastic. I don't know if you had intended it, but absman420's style was to release the most arousing detail at the beginning (like the movies Jaws or Psycho) and let the audience coast on that. Here, you get very close but you're apparently not going to reveal the flower-to-human connection until later - keeping us poor readers in suspense. :) Clearly as master writer!! Looking forward to more. :)

oh, yes, I agree with the previous comment! show us more of the town! maybe you could make a chapter with the guys walking across the town to see the changes. Personally, I'd love if anybody shows a minimum respect for the former respected officers, or if they make fun of them due their obvious stupidity.

First off ... I have to give enormous credit and admiration to absman420. He created the Pollination series. Two stories that I have read over and over; I can't even tell you how many times I've read them. If you haven't, and you enjoy the type of stories that I write, I highly encourage you to go check them out. What's great about Pollination: The Series is that it's a compilation of multiple chapter and story threads, it never gets old and can keep you entertained on multiple readings. Anyways .. about a week ago, absman420 posted a new branch of the series. While it wasn't a direct continuation of the series, it was sort of a spin-off in which we saw the return of the alien / symbiont plants. Only this time, there were subtle clues as to what may have happened after the original series. My imagination began racing to possibilities of what may have happened. I even wrote a comment, hoping that I maybe inspire absman to write more. Long story short: I'm going to write where my imagination took me. This is just the beginning of what I'm calling: The Next Harvest. And this will probably take me a bit of time to crank out. I just don't write as fast as I used to. And because I revere and hold the Pollination series in such high regard, I want to take great consideration to deliver a truly worthy product.

@ wesley: You're right, I'll try to be better about these things in the future. I was being an asshole. I think I overreact and lash out sometimes and its bad. I won't do that anymore. Thanks for replying

A good, solid piece, covering the basics of the genre admirably.

It's been pretty apparent that you're not very good at reading through things and thinking about them for a second before commenting on them anon, so maybe you could work on that in the future. That would mean more to me than a half-assed apology. The game comment wasn't a deflection--it's trying to point out that you're going to be disappointed by this story if you're looking at it from that frame of winners and losers because this is a tragedy by structure--a story where the good people lose because they aren't as good as they think they are. It's about the nature of failure, and how we survive it. I know that's a deeper reading than you're used to around here, and that you think anything beyond superficial porn shouldn't be on this site anyway because it might upset you, but stories can be more than that--and honestly? This is a story site--not a porn site. Says so right there in the name, and the mod seems to agree. If you don't understand it, might I suggest simply moving on and finding something else that interests you, instead of being so angry that I'm not catering to your expectations?
