I really want to read this story but I got about 10% through this chapter but the formatting and story grammar are .... rough.. at best, and distracting. This feels more like a stream of conssciousness / rough draft and it seems like it's 100% dialogue/monologue. Does it get better as the story goes?

@[twistmybrain](/user/show/10044353) Sorry, but I don't believe you're going to find the rest any more palatable. I think you summed up the style well with "stream of consciousness", but if you were looking for more structured framing, you probably won't enjoy it.

wow - this is _so very well done!_ The pacing is excellent, and the slow slow drive to the conclusion kept me rapt with interest.

@[Hansel-2](/user/show/10057440) Why thank you so much for the compliment. I put a fair amount of work into this, so I’m glad it worked for you. I have some doubts that some readers won’t have the patience for the slower buildup, but I thought it was necessary given the nature of the story. I’m guessing you are interested in a follow up?

🫡 🙏 Stunning, thrilling, deeply moving, tragic and uncompromising, compelling from start to finish. The depth of the abuse Max suffered is rough to read, but as we see the effect of Cody's relentless care and love, it's more than redemption - it's profound in a way that's more than just a happy ending. In the end, it was the music that saved them, and that's what I'll remember most. Brilliant and beautiful. Thank you so much.

What a stunning piece of work. It’s the perfect gift for the start of the year. I’m fascinated by how the narrative balances the grotesque with a constant sense of sensuality. The interdependence between the cowboy and the drone is so seamless, and the elements of 'breaking the chains' are arranged so logically. I especially appreciated your persistence with the scenes where the drone must force itself to ignore its physiological responses—it works for me ;) Truly an impressive and moving story . Thank you for sharing your work with us.

@[Corin](/user/show/125990) Thanks so much! I was really wondering if it was too much… teasing, and not enough action. Maybe I’m just a bit too much like Chris and enjoy edging my readers a little? So glad you enjoyed!
